Gut renovation of a 1920’s five-story duplex townhouse in Park Slope Brooklyn.
“When I initially started working on the townhouse it was badly run down and in desperate need of a facelift. The project required an interior rebuild with the goal to bring back in details and layers that respected and took inspiration from the history of the space. A bright color scheme and eclectic mix of fabrics and textures really brought the rooms to life. I designed all the cabinetry and fireplace mantle as well as all ceiling moldings.
One of the challenges in this renovation was the goal to feature an entertaining roof deck and home office on the top floor and the only way to achieve that was to reinforce the roof with steel and rebuild the office structure from scratch. The inspiration for the roof was an English garden and the result was well worth the effort.
The house was photographed for Elle Décor Magazine.
The upper duplex seen here in these photographs was sold separately and achieved the highest price per square foot for an apartment sold in the exclusive area.
